Review: Suspects and A.C.I.D
The 18th March 2017, saw the debut headlining gig of BAIT. The event was held in 'The Railway Hotel,' a small intimate venue located opposite Southend central train station.
The event showcased three of cool things finest acts, providing an energetic, inspirational night of music.
This review is highlighting the amazing support acts of the night!
The first band on the line up was A.C.I.D (pictured above,) a band Echo The Sound have previously interviewed. A.C.I.D started the evening off with a bang, with their unique sound, and contagious energy, it was hard not to focus every bit of your attention on them. Their set smoothly transitioned from song to song, which highlighted their dedication to the music, and professionalism whilst performing. Liam Watkins, frontman of the band showed excellent dynamic in his performance, keeping the audience in anticipation for what was next. A.C.I.D set the standard high for the night, with their power, inspiration, and connection, the audience simply couldn't get enough.
Up next was a duo called Suspects, but don't be fooled by their number as the power behind their music is nothing to argue with. Tom Prescott, frontman of the duo, had the ability within his stage presence to make the stage feel like it had the charisma, skill, and attitude of a full band, a quality I have rarely come across. The energy the two created was infectious, and had all the audience jumping up and down. Something that became apparent through the first two acts, was how much the events team supported and appreciated each others talent, which set up and warm and inviting atmosphere before the evening had even started.
This event proved that support acts should never be missed, as they provide the fun, energetic atmosphere to get the night going!
Overall, the night was an amazing success, making me leave the venue happy, positive, and inspired with the rest of the audience.
